What It Is:

Grindr is a dating app for gay, bisexual, or bi-curious men to meet other men of the same sexual orientation who may or may not be “out of the closet.” Essentially it’s a chat app with messaging services that allow you to chat with others who have the app.  Also you can rate other profiles (people) according to how they look (or at least how they present themselves on the app).

Who is on it?:

Mostly homosexual men of varying ages. Though the app started as a social networking app through geolocation, it has evolved into a means of facilitating casual hook-ups.

Would My Child Want It?:

If your child is interested in interacting with homosexual men, then this is an app that could be alluring to them.

Where Can It Be Used?:

Grindr is a mobile app available for most smartphones and mobile devices.
What Should I Watch Out For?:
Everything! Because Grindr has become a facilitator of casual sexual activity, it’s an all-around bad idea to be associated with this app.

What Are The Positives?:

What Are The Negatives?:

Sexual hook-ups are not the type of lifestyle anyone – let alone children – should be living.

What We Think:

This isn’t an app that you want your kids to have. Stay far, far away. If you found this on your kid’s phone, delete it and have a conversation.
