What It Is:
Dropbox is a cloud storage service that is accessible to multiple users at once.
Who is on it?:
A lot of people; though Dropbox is primarily used for business, it’s still a convenient way to share large amounts of data, making it good for families or friends.
Would My Child Want It?:
Maybe. If they are into some pastime that requires a lot of storage and they need a place to back up or host their images.
Where Can It Be Used?:
Anywhere with internet access.
What Should I Watch Out For?:
Since Dropbox works pretty much like an online hard drive, you potentially could upload files, pictures or any other digital good to that space and hide it or be actively sharing it.
What Are The Positives?:
Dropbox is a great place for families to upload large files to easily share with other friends or family members. Also it’s incredible for just backing up basic computer files and documents.
What Are The Negatives?:
If your kids are tech-savvy they could be hiding something on there that you don’t know about.
What We Think:
It’s a great service that could be utilized in a great way, plus the first 2 gigabytes are free. We love Dropbox and use it all the time.
